Cumberland Island No. 607
A tree branch on the beach of Cumberland Island, Georgia. My ongoing series of photographs of the island explores a protected seashore that is wild and beautiful, but almost inhospitable to visitors. While some of my past work has emphasized the impact of humans on the earth, this collection highlights nature’s independent shapes and habits. I see the patterns of waves, sand, and trees merely as geometric and abstract forms.
